After a scorching May that saw our air-con working overtime for sold-out events like Big Red and the Grinners and Nuromantica, Pilgrim is ready to dive into a vibrant June, celebrating the diversity of music we love. This month, we are focusing on showcasing the incredible emerging talent from the North East alongside some more established stars and familiar legends. Start your week by catching the next big thing at our regular Monday night Songwriter Socials, curated by Jonny Boyle, which offers an intimate, free entry setting to see handpicked artists. Additionally, don’t miss the NEMO Groove Orchestra for live jazz and groove, and the talented Newcastle College University Centre students’ BMus showcase, following in the footsteps of alumni from Sam Fender‘s band.

Our ticketed live music schedule is equally impressive and diverse. On June 12th, the Louis Crosland Band will perform, supported by local up-and-comers Central Arcade, bringing their blues, soul and alternative rock sounds to the stage. Later in the month, immerse yourself in the Afro-Cuban, Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Mambo rhythms of Castillo Nuevo Orquesta. For fans of Hip Hop, our partner Nrthrn Baby returns with a new DOTS showcase. Finally, Marty Craggs (ex-Lindisfarne) brings his band for an afternoon of classic Irish, country, folk, and North East anthems. All at the home of live music in Newcastle.

Beyond the live bands, June is packed with party nights and celebrated DJs. Dive into the nostalgia of 90s R&B and 2000s Hip Hop at the Y2K Summer Edition. Or, relive the halcyon days of UK House Music at the “Four To The Floor” mega-party, featuring legendary names like Miss Moneypenny’s pioneer Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan. With various free entry DJ sets every Saturday, including guests like Mojaxx, Peverell Brothers, and Appo, there’s always a reason to come together. We look forward to seeing you on the best dancefloor in Newcastle.
