Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill party

Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill party

2026 marks the 40th anniversary of Licensed To Ill – the groundbreaking debut studio album by the Beastie Boys – and we’ve teamed up with Beyond Vinyl and some other special friends & partners to fight for your right to party at PILGRIM with a special album listening event – plus wraparound DJ sets, photo exhibition, drinks promos, prize draw and more.

Produced with Rick Rubin, Licensed To Ill was the first rap LP to top the Billboard album chart in 1986 and pioneered the fusion of punk rock energy with hip-hop and redefined sampling and musical evolution. This classic LP features hits like ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)’, ‘Brass Monkey’, ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’, ‘Girls’, and ‘Hold It Now, Hit It’ and we will be playing it in full, on vinyl, through our famous PILGRIM sound system.

Our partners at Beyond Vinyl, the independent record store on the outskirts of our City, will have a pop-up shop with a range of Beastie Boys and hip-hop treasures – including the new Mike D album: ‘Thank You’ released on 28 August.
